Capacitive Measurement Of Gaps Between Accelerator GridsTedious mechanical and optical measurement techniques no longer needed. Two techniques involing simple measurements of capacitance provides straightforward indications of distance between two closely spaced perforated electrodes in ion-accelerator apparatus. Capacitive measurement techniques implemented easily at both ambient and operating temperatures, and involve less handling of grids.
