Experiment K-7-19: Pineal Physiology After Spaceflight: Relation to Rat Gonadal FunctionThe function of pineal exposed to microgravity and spaceflight is studied. It is found that the spaceflight resulted in a stress response as indicated by adrenal hypertrophy, that gonadal function was compromised, and that the pineal may be linked as part of the mechanisms of the response noted.
