STS-78 Flight Day 8On this eighth day of the STS-78 mission, the flight crew, Cmdr. Terence T. Henricks, Pilot Kevin R. Kregel, Payload Cmdr. Susan J. Helms, Mission Specialists Richard M. Linnehan, Charles E. Brady, Jr., and Payload Specialists Jean-Jacques Favier, Ph.D. and Robert B. Thirsk, M.D., continue to conduct experiments primarily focusing on the effects of weightlessness on human physiology. Results from the studies of muscle activity, task performance, and sleep will help future mission planners organize crew schedules for greater efficiency and productivity. For a second consecutive day, Henricks, Kregel, Thirsk, and Favier continue to enter responses to a battery of problem-solving tasks on the Performance Assessment Work Station, a laptop computer.
