The polar solar wind: An additional acceleration due to the rotation of the magnetic sunThe influence of the solar rotation of the polar solar wind acceleration was analyzed theoretically. Data from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) ultraviolet instruments were used to test the theoretical predictions. These predictions are: the double electric layer at the heliocentric distance of 2.6 solar radii, and the system of field-aligned electric currents above 2.6 solar radii. The model provides a 3D analytical discontinuous stationary solution of the magnetohydrodynamic equations in the non-inertial frame of reference.
