MGS images of MarsThe Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) camera captured images of a pit formed when a straight-walled trough collapsed. The heart shaped pit is about 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) wide. It is located on the east flank of the Alba Patera volcano in northern Tharsis.
