A Study of the Planetary Nebula M57We present an overview of the objects known as planetary nebulae. These emission nebulae are the end-product of the evolution of a dying star. our ground-based imagery is of the most famous of these objects, M57, also known as the Ring Nebula. Taken with the 2.12-meter telescope at San Pedro Matir in Baja, Mexico, these seeing-limited images show variations in ionization, density and temperature as a function of position in the nebula. Our ground-based imagery is compared to similar HST archival images.
