Soil and Rock Physical Properties at the Mars Exploration Rover Landing Sites: Early ReturnsThe purpose of this paper is to report the 'early returns' on the physical properties of soil units and rocks at the MER landing sites. Because we are still very early in the mission at Meridiani Planum, results from the Gusev Crater Landing Site are emphasized here.
