Bringing data back from Mars: in-situ communications role--the rover to orbiter to Earth linkOver the coming decade, an international fleet of spacecraft will carry out the most intensive exploration to date of another world in our solar system. A wide range of orbiters, landers and rovers will conduct a linking together--detailed in-situ inbestigations, culminating in an eventual return of Martian surface, subsurface, and atmospheric samples to Earth for detailed laboratory evaluation.
