Lessons Learned form Selecting and Testing Spaceflight PotentiometersA solar array drive (SAD) was designed for operation on the TOPEX/POSEIDON spacecraft that was launched in August of 1992. The experience gained in selecting, specifying, testing to failure, and redesigning its position sensor produced valuable lessons for future component selection and qualification.
