Solar-stratosphere-troposphere interaction as a mechanism of solar influence on climateWe will briefly review recent studies showing that stratospheric disturbances propagate to the troposphere and that UV variability affects the atmospheric circulation in the stratosphere and troposphere in a coherent fashion. We will outline a mechanism by which solar-stratosphere-troposphere interaction may influence climate and discuss a simple model that includes the basic elements of this mechanism.
