Development of an innovative space boompresents the development of a new type of ultra-lightweight space boom, called the self-deployable Spring Strip Boom or simply the S cubed boom. It describes the fundamental design concept and several variations of design configurations. Test results of proof of concept models are discussed and compared with results obtained by analytical simultations.
