Inflight calibration experiment results for AVIRIS on the 6th of May 2002 at Rogers Dry Lake, CaliforniaCalibration of any optical remote measurement is required in order to: 1) extract information directly from the measured spectral radiance, 2) compare measurements acquired at different times and from different regions, 3) compare measurements with measurements from other instruments, and 4) derive information from measurements using physically based computer models.
