Creep of Ice: Further StudiesFrictional sliding experiments conducted to study crustal behavior on the icy Galilean satellites are described as well as the microstructural aspects of ice flow. An improved heat exchanger and computer control of temperature are being used to explore the lower regimes of strain rate. A preliminary measurement of the strengths of some of the higher pressure polymorphs of ice was obtained and is considered.
