Mars Geologic Mapping: a Review and New ConceptsThe final version of the 1.15 m scale geologic map of the western equatorial region of Mars based on Viking pictures has been completed in open file format. Geologic maps of the north and south polar regions were completed in provisional form. A map of the eastern equatorial region is in compilation. Evidences of erosion, water flooding, volcanic activity, and primary and satellite craters in these areas are discussed.
