The recovery of asteroids after two observationsIt is shown that a generalization of the use of 'Vaisala orbits', briefly mentioned at the Asteroids 2 Conference, can be very conveniently accomplished by means of an inversion of the 'GEM' form of the Gauss method. The procedure can also be applied to Apollo objects and to indeterminate cases of normal three-observation orbit computation, and there is also a simple extension to situations involving four or more observations.
