Development of Miniature Lidar using Narrow Linewidth Semiconductor Lasers for Mars Boundary Layer Wind and Dust Opacity ProfilesIn this paper we discuss the semiconductor diode laser developments which will meet the requirements dictated by the Mars Doppler lidar application, and the development and use of a compact lidar for boundary layer measurements which embodies the same measurement approach as the Mars lidar concept.
