Availability of Heat to Drive Hydrothermal Systems in Large Martian Impact CratersThe central uplift in large craters on Mars can provide a substantial source of heat, equivalent to heat produced by the impact melt sheet. The heat generated in large impacts could play a significant role in hydrothermal systems on Mars. Additional information is contained in the original extended abstract.
