Aerogel as a Sample Collector and Sample Mount for Transmission XRD AnalysisSilica aerogel can be used for dust collection and in situ X-ray analysis. Aerogels can be less absorbing than Be, and it is feasible to obtain X-ray transmission factors >50% using typical aerogels together with a 100-micrometer Be backing foil.
