Dielectric Properties of Lunar Simulant Materials IIThis is an addition to the NASA/TP- 20250009115 (Rickman et al., 2025), containing dielectric measurements made by Microwave Properties North (MPN) on six additional materials of interest to lunar applications. The materials are NU-LHT-2M-AGGL, JSC-1A-AGGL, Stillwater Anorthosite, two olivine samples, and an ilmenite. The measured values at 2466 MHz for these 6 additional materials, as well as the “Looyenga scaled” values for a density of 1.75 g/cc, are reported herein. Measurement protocols, data processing, presentation, and this
document structure follow the pattern set in the above referenced paper. The result is a collection, including both papers, of 29 uniformly measured and processed data sets covering lunar regolith simulants and some related materials. Of special note, the leakage of a small amount of oxygen into the MPN system, in spite of the use of flowing Ultra High Purity argon, has resulted in visual confirmation of oxidation of some samples at high temperatures during the runs. The influence of this on the dielectric constant values has not yet been measured, but experience suggests only a small effect.
